A new reality show on NBC that starts Wednesday night could put the RV industry in a positive light.
It's called the "Great American Road Trip." Seven families will compete by driving across America in RVs. Each week one family will be eliminated while they travel to popular American tourist spots.
Dealers are hoping people will see the fun families have spending time together while on vacation.
“It’s a good family-fun environment and encourages good times with the family and everybody has an enjoyable experience,” says Tiara RVs owner Todd Cornell.
You'll only see Fleetwood Motor homes on the show. They are made in Decatur, Indiana. They are priced at more than one hundred thousand dollars.
Still dealers are encouraging families to consider other more affordable options like the smaller trailers.
Either way, RVs will play a major role in the show.
“It can show people that the lifestyle is accessible and everything and anybody can enjoy it… that would be beneficial to everybody,” says Cornell.
There are a total of 8 episodes airing on Wednesdays at 8 p.m. on WNDU.
