South Bend's incumbent mayor will face a challenge in the primary election.
Bill Davis will run as a Democrat for the mayoral nomination in South Bend.
Davis is 59-years-old and retired.
He ran for a seat on the South Bend School Board in 1994.
Davis says, “Should I say may the best man win, but I will not lose because what I bring to the campaign only giving the people more knowledge plus giving them a better choice of who they want.”
Davis says he is worried about the erosion of South Bend's neighborhoods and the decline in the city's tax base.
