A 12-year-old Elkhart boy denies a charge in the shooting death of his cousin.

The boy said he did not realize the gun was loaded when he pointed it at 11-year-old Aaliyah Joiner's head.
Joiner died about two weeks ago.
Tuesday in court, the 12-year-old entered a denial plea on the criminal recklessness charge against him.
A status hearing is set for January 16th.
Meantime, another 16-year-old cousin was also charged in the case.
The teen allegedly had the handgun prior to the shooting.
