The federal government gave its stamp of approval to Governor Mitch Daniels' plan to privatize the state's benefits program.
The Governor is proposing to hire a group of private companies to process applications and give technical support to the Family and Social Services Administration.
Daniels could decide by the end of the year if he would sign the $1 billion dollar contract.
The federal agencies that run the benefit programs spent the last two months reviewing the contracts.
