Contract talks are apparently not going well for teachers in the Mishawaka school system.
Teachers there have been working under the terms of an expired contract for about a year now.
At a meeting Tuesday, educators heard details of the administration's latest contract offer.
It called for an increase in health insurance premiums, which means teachers will see less in their take home pay.
Administrators also offered a one percent, one-time bonus to only those teachers who are at the top of the salary scale.
The Mishawaka Education Association made plans to show the school board and the community that they are solidly behind their bargaining team.
MEA president Bruce Shannon asked the teachers to come out in mass at the January 9th school board meeting.
