An Elkhart musical instrument maker will likely be buying a bankrupt South Bend music retailer.
Conn-selmer bid more than $40 million to buy the Woodwind and Brasswood.
A federal bankruptcy judge chose Conn-selmer's offer over a bid by Guitar Center Incorporated.
Woodwind and Brasswind, the nation's third largest musical instrument retailer, filed for Chapter 11 earlier this year.
Conn-selmer has been in the news for a bitter strike that has dragged on at its Vincent Bach plant in Elkhart since April.
The sale of Woodwind and Brasswood is scheduled for next month.
