The Brandywine School System is looking for a new leader.
Over the weekend, superintendent Gary Rider accepted a new job at the Thorn-Apple Kellogg schools in Middleville, Michigan.
Rider has been superintendent at Brandywine since 2003.
It is unclear exactly when he will leave the district.
Rider anticipates staying in Brandywine through much of January.
His departure comes at a time when the district is trying to place a $5.7 million bond issue and millage proposal before voters in May.
That money would go toward renovation work at Brandywine High School and Brandywine Elementary.
