A Berrien County man pleaded guilty Monday in the 1979 murder of a hope college student.
67-year-old Robert Lynch of Three Oaks pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of second-degree murder.
Lynch is one of six people charged in the death of Janet Chandler.
Police say they allegedly kidnapped the 23-year-old hotel clerk from her job, raped, and strangled her.
Lynch was arrested in February and was scheduled to go on trial next month.
Now, he faces 25-years to life in prison.
