A piece of South Bend property with a rich history, now has a future.
A nine million dollar project is underway at 101 North Michigan Street downtown.
It calls for renovating the former American Trust Bank building that opened in 1924.
Plans also call for new construction on a vacant lot to the north of the building to complete the so called All American Plaza.
The re-worked structure will house retail space, office space, and perhaps 20-to-30 residential condominiums.
