New Cars for Indiana State Police

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

The latest example comes from the Indiana State Police.

The newest cars being distributed to troopers are once again colored white.

That ends an experiment with black state police cars that began in 1998.

You could say the reason for the change is easy to see.

“The reason why is better visibility; the new car has a new L.E.D. light bar on top of it, big reflective blue strip on the side, versus gold one on the black car, and they feel it might be safer for us troopers out on the road,” explains Brad Kaizer, Indiana State Police.

The white state police cars will be phased in over a period of time eventually replacing all of the black cars.
