Convicted murderer Jeff Pelley will not get a new trial, at least not in the foreseeable future.
St. Joseph Superior Court Judge Roland Chamblee denied a defense motion for a new trial.
Pelley's lawyers said police should have interviewed a woman who had information about another possible suspect.
But Chamblee questioned the woman's credibility and its impact on the guilty verdict.
Defense attorney Alan Baum tells Newscenter 16 Thursday night that he plans to file an appeal with Indiana’s Court of Appeals within two weeks.
Pelley was convicted in July of the 1989 murders of his father, stepmother and two step-sisters in their Lakeville home.
