Thursday is the second anniversary of one of the most memorable events in recent local history.
Two years ago Thursday, a plane made an emergency landing on State Road 933 in Roseland.
The private plane lost power in its engine and could not make it to South Bend Regional Airport, so the pilot used the next best thing by turning the four-lane highway into a landing strip.
All five people on the plane were okay.
The only damage was to the front of the plane and a pole the plane came to a stop on.
The plane ended up as quite the tourist attraction.
Hundreds of people drove by, many of them taking pictures, as it sat in a parking lot in the days after the landing.
