The race is on for South Bend Mayor.
Republican Juan Manigault officially threw his hat in the political ring Thursday, announcing his candidacy in South Bend.
Manigault is the current Executive Director of Work-One in South Bend.
He says his campaign will focus on several areas, including: economic growth, public safety, and education.
Manigault said, “We can not have a strong community and a vibrant economy without the promise of quality education for all who are seeing to better themselves in this way. We must create an educational pathway for every student in the South Bend Community School Corp.”
Mayor Steve Luecke says he will run again.
But he plans to wait until after the New Year to make a formal announcement.
