It was a house hunting tour that did not focus on Christmas lights.
Wednesday, Mayor Jeff Rea led a tour through 16 new homes in Mishawaka’s first time homebuyer program.
The program is designed to promote home-ownership, providing down payment assistance through the city of Mishawaka.
There are eligibility requirements, but new homeowners get the chance to help design their new home.
They are also given information on home maintenance and financial assistance.
The program is already looking for next year's new homeowners.
