Governor Mitch Daniels is expected to make an announcement on Indiana’s higher education Thursday.
The Senate Tax Committee Chairman Luke Kenley says the Daniels’ administration approached lawmakers a month ago with a proposal to privatize the Hoosier Lottery.
That proposal includes leasing the Hoosier lottery to a private vendor in order to raise money for universities.
According to lottery officials, the issue has not been presented to the commission.
