Acupuncture Benefits

Alternative medical treatments, like acupuncture are becoming more popular in the U.S. but do they really work?

Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese practice that focuses on balancing the body's life force.

Dr. Yong Li first checks a patient's pulse to see how the heart is beating.

Then, he inserts extremely fine needles into points of the body that are said to stimulate your energy channels.

Kristin Gorell comes once a month for treatment to relieve a thyroid condition and stress.

“This is thousands of years in use, generation to generation, time tested therapy,” explains Kristin Gorell, acupuncture patient. “I feel like my whole mind-body oneness is in a lot healthier place than it was before.”

Doctor Li treats a lot of chronic disorders such as headaches, joint pain, sleep disorders, and even infertility.

Acupuncture has few side effects, but some complain of soreness, bleeding or bruising afterwards.

If you take blood thinners or have a bleeding disorder, you should not seek acupuncture treatment.
