Donnelly’s Agenda

Giving middle class families some extra help, that is what one group wants to see happen.

Tuesday, Communities United of South Bend presented Congressman-elect Joe Donnelly with a middle class agenda.

The agenda lists seven ways to help alleviate the economic squeeze felt by millions of families.

Quality affordable health care is the overriding issue.

Donnelly says he will bring the agenda to Washington.

"This Congress that is about to take action. Is going to be a Congress that stands up for middle class families, we have talked about in the first 100 hours that Congress is in session that we're going to pass an increase in the minimum wage. We are going to renegotiate Medicare, part D, prescription prices so that we can get lower prices,” explains Donnelly. "We begin in early January, we're going to hit the ground running."

In the past several months, Communities United made over 21,000 phone calls to people in Michiana to help come up with the agenda.
