There is a crucial need for blood this holiday season in Michiana.
So the South Bend Medical Foundation is offering some nice perks.
Every donor this holiday season will get a t-shirt and a poinsettia for giving blood.
If you donate, your name will also be entered in a drawing for a 42-inch plasma TV.
The donor gifts are all in an effort to get more blood at a time of year when the supply runs very short.
“Unfortunately not having enough blood in our community happens on an almost monthly basis. We don't collect enough units of blood to satisfy the need in our community so we are always needing more blood donors to come out and give the gift of life,” explains Jeanna Pugh, blood donor recruiter. “And especially during the holiday season when the use of blood increases and donations actually decrease.”
If you would like to set up an appointment at the South Bend Medical Foundation's Central Blood Bank, give them a call at 234-1157.
They also take walk-ins in South Bend and at their Edison Lakes location in Mishawaka.
