Two Cities Test New Policy at Their Airports

The days of walking a family member to their gate at the airport may soon return.

The Transportation Safety Administration is testing the impact of allowing non-travelers past the security gates at two major airports.

The TSA is testing the new policy in Detroit and also at the Dallas-Fort Worth airport in Texas.

The policy to keep friends and loved ones from meeting incoming and outgoing passengers was instituted after the 9/11 terror attacks.

If the program is successful in these two cities, it could expand to other airports.
