Police Investigate Deadly Shooting

The South Bend Police Department is asking for your help after three people were shot early Saturday morning, killing one man.

Police received reports of multiple gunshots in the 300 block of S. Cherry St.

When paramedics arrived, they found 19-year-old Kenneth E. Riles Jr., dead.

A short time later, two men checked into a local hospital with multiple gunshot wounds. Both of those men are expected to survive.

"Due to the fact of the way the circumstances went down last night, we're always looking for help from the community. If anybody has any information we need them to come forward because I’m sure from what I hear, there was a bunch of people out here last night, so there's a lot of people that know what happened," explains Capt. John Williams, South Bend Police.

Police do not know if the shootings are related, but ask anyone with information to call St. Joseph County Metro-Homicide at 235-5009.
