Snowy Roads Make For Slow Morning Commute

Even though we got only a light blanket of snow Thursday morning, it's enough to cause a lot of problems.

Highway Patrol says they have very few accidents, but urge people to take it slow on their way to work or school.

Authorities are preaching safe winter driving.

Indiana State Police say make sure to start your trip early because roads can be slow and traffic could get backed up.

Other tips:

  • Anticipate your stops.
  • Brake early because roads are slick.
  • Watch bridges and overpasses, which can freeze quicker than main roads!
  • Look at road conditions on your travel route.
