A Berrien County couple will spend up to 70 years in prison for torturing a 14-year-old boy.
According to our news-gathering partners at WSJM Radio, the boy's aunt Yekia Williams and her husband Damion Williams were sentenced to 15 to 70 years.
Another aunt, Phillipa Miles, was sentenced to 20 to 48 months for a smaller role in the crime.
Police were called to their Cogic Village Apartment in July after the teen escaped to a neighbor's home.
The boy told officers his aunt and her husband had chained and starved him.
The couple pleaded no contest to their charges.
The teen and a one-year-old also living in the home are now in protective custody.
