Wednesday’s announcements from the Iraq Study Group prompted quick responses from Indiana's senators.
Indiana's Senior Senator, Republican Dick Lugar is a member of the Foreign Relations Committee.
He said, “The recommendations of the Iraq Study Group should be absorbed and considered by policy-makers who are grappling with the complexities of Iraq policy."
Lugar also said he welcomes the concurrent activity in the Bush administration to review present policies and consider new approaches.
Indiana's Democratic Senator, Evan Bayh, released a statement saying, “The administration's continued insistence to stay the course has produced few results in the past three years and is weakening our overall national security. We need to try a different approach, one that puts pressure on the Iraqi people to make the tough decisions."
