Disturbing the peace complaints could change summer beach rentals in St. Joseph.
Monday night, city commissioners reviewed a draft plan to deal with short-term beach rentals.
The plan limits future rental homes to nine beachfront neighborhoods and prohibits additional rentals in established residential areas.
The beach house rentals also have to be registered and are subject to occupancy limits.
Out of town owners will have to designate a local agent who can respond within 20 minutes to any complaints.
A vote on the changes should come in January.
