Michiana Gym Gives Kids a Place to Stay Fit

Child obesity is a growing epidemic, but now kids in Michiana have a place they can go to stay healthy.

The fit-n-in fitness center opened Monday in Mishawaka.

It is a place where kids can go to exercise, have fun, and make new friends.

Owner Amy Woodcox is a registered nurse.

She came up with the idea after watching her teenage daughter struggle with her weight.

While the center may be geared towards children, Woodcox says there are workouts available for the entire family.

Amy Woodcox said, "It's not just mom drop her kids off and leave. I encourage moms and dads and brothers and sisters to come as well. It could be something the whole family could do."

Fit-n-in is open six days a week.
