The kettles are out, and Salvation Army bell ringers are braving the cold.

The Salvation Army says donations are way down this year in Michiana for its Red Kettle Campaign.
Officials blame the weather, a sluggish economy and an increase in need.
Red kettles are set up across Michiana including at area Wal-Mart stores, the Mishawaka Post Office and University Park Mall.
