Heating Costs On The Rise

Monday’s chilly weather has many in Michiana turning up the heat.

Keep in mind the higher you set your thermostat the more money it is going to cost you.

Analysts expect it to be an expensive home heating season.

The price of natural gas jumped 8% last week.

Heating oil prices are rising, too, and this could be just the beginning. Independent Trader Eric Bolling remarks, "Over the course of the next few months, you will probably see the price of natural gas go up, and that will affect you in the form of higher heating bills at home."

Despite a mild winter forecast, the energy department predicts a typical family will spend $945.00 on heat this winter.

That is down from last year, when supplies were much tighter because of all the hurricanes, but it is up from 2003 and 2004.
