A Toddler's Fall is Investigated by Police

South bend police continue to investigate a four story fall that injured a toddler.

The fall happened last night at the St. Joseph tower apartments in downtown South Bend.

17-month old Ryan Shull apparently slipped through the railing of an open air stairwell and fell about 30 feet onto the pavement below.

Shull was taken to the hospital with a skull fracture and internal injuries.

Hospital officials tell us he is in serious condition tonight.

The South Bend police family violence unit is investigating the fall to determine if it was an accident.
