Police are looking for a man who robbed a South Bend gas station and shot the clerk.
This isn't the first robbery along State Road 9-33 this month.
Thursday night Babbu Singh says his father-in-law Barkat Singh was shot in the leg during a robbery at the marathon on State Road 9-33 in Clay Township.
Singh says his father-in-law turned his back on the customer and when he turned around the man had a gun. He was then shot in the leg and the suspect emptied the register.
A woman in the restroom came out and called for help
Last December Barkat's brother, Preet Singh, was shot and killed during a robbery. That led to four arrests.
And two weeks ago just south of the marathon two workers at the Auto Zone were robbed at gunpoint also.
“As two of our managers were closing the store they were approached by a man who came around the side of the building. He had them come back in the store and deactivate the alarm. He took all the money from the registers and safe. He had them lay down there until he had the chance to leave the building for about… well he told them to stay until counted to 200,” says Auto Zone manager Jason Manwarren.
It’s the third robbery for Auto Zone in Michiana and they are offering a 250-dollar reward.
There is surveillance video for the Marathon robbery that could be released if need be.
Auto Zone doesn't have a system set up but after they hired a security guard.
