If you are flying out of South Bend Regional Airport tonight you will want to call ahead.
While the weather is not extremely bad here in South Bend the same can not be said for other parts of the Midwest.
More than 400 flights were cancelled today out of Chicago’s O’Hare Intl Airport.
Even flights to Cincinnati, Detroit and other cities all left passengers waiting in line for last minute changes.
Some travelers we talked to had to take pretty "creative" routes to their destinations.
Adam Strieby, a delayed traveler, says, “We have to travel to Chicago, on a bus, into the ice storm apparently then take a flight to Cincinnati, from Cincinnati to Atlanta, to Hawaii, I’m confused even, Atlanta to Hawaii, whatever, I’m going to end up in Waikiki.”
Indianapolis is also seeing its fair share of delays today due to high winds.
Wind gusts up to 45-miles were reported downtown, traffic lights were spinning like tops and many folks had trouble just crossing the street.
Tonight, more than 12-thousand people in Indy are without power.
