A Michiana child is hospitalized after falling from a 4th floor balcony Thursday.
Police say it happened around 5:30PM at the St. Joseph tower apartments in downtown South Bend.
The boy apparently slipped through the railing of an open air stairwell and fell about 30 feet onto the pavement below.
The child was taken to Memorial Hospital.
The South Bend Police family violence unit is investigating to determine if the fall was an accident or if the child was pushed.
The extent of his injuries is unknown.
