The holidays are going to be a little brighter this year for needy children in Michiana and it’s all thanks to some Mishawaka High School students.
Members of Caveman Care filled goody bags with clothes, toys and candy Friday for kids throughout the Michiana community.
It is part of the Mental Health Association's Gift Lift Program.
Caveman Care is a service group that does service projects throughout the community.
Students say they are happy to help.
"I hope that they'll be happy with having something for Christmas," says Emily Fearnow, Mishawaka High School senior.
"I’m just really proud of the whole group, because we've had not only the Cavemen Care members who were assigned to this task. But other Cavemen Care members who have pitched in to help with the project without being asked," explains Guidance Counselor Nancy Walton.
The holiday help is not over for the Cavemen Care members.
Students will also be bell ringing for the Salvation Army in December.
