A LaPorte County woman, charged in the death of a newborn baby, is out of jail.
Kathy Phillips, 29, was released Wednesday after paying a $5000 bond.
In March, the body of an infant girl was found in a wooded area, near Phillips' home.
She was arrested in October and charged with murder and neglect.
Phillips had been in jail since her arrest, but her attorneys argued she was not a flight risk or a threat to the community.
Therefore, the judge agreed to her release.
Phillips' trial is set for March 12th. If convicted on both counts, she faces up to 65 years in prison.
