Some folks took a quick trip to the drive-thru Wednesday and ordered up a flu shot.
People from the Health Department setup shop at South Bend's Central Fire Station.
They gave out shots as part of National Influenza Vaccination Week.
Drivers rolled down a window, and rolled up a sleeve to get a dose of the flu vaccine.
“We hear a lot of positive feedback from the community that the drive thru flu clinics are more popular than having to walk inside to a building and wait through a line,” explains Epidemiologist Kara Green. “Influenza is highly contagious and it does quickly spread between people, so getting a flu shot is the best way to keep from getting influenza during the flu season.”
The Health Department will hold another flu clinic at the Portage Fire Station on December 5th.
