Granholm’s New Business Tax Proposal

Governor Granholm proposed a new business tax Wednesday for Michigan companies.

The tax would allow them to hire more workers and offer better benefits.

At a news conference Wednesday morning in Lansing, Granholm outlined the new plan, which she says, will make every business pay their fair share.

The Governor also says Michigan businesses will be paying the lowest tax rate in the nation.

Under the proposed new plan, out-of-state businesses, those with large profits and companies getting special tax breaks would pay more.
