Former BMV Worker Accused of Giving Out Fake Documents

A former South Bend license branch worker accused of taking bribes to hand out bogus documents to illegal immigrants, was in court Monday.

Julian Sanchez, 28, is accused of handing out bogus driver's licenses, learners' permits and state ID's.

Prosecutors say the bribes ranged in price from $40 to $500.

They say Sanchez processed at least 58 separate bogus transactions with false social security numbers and social security information while working at the BMV branch on Western Avenue in South Bend.
