Monday mark's what retailers hope will be the biggest shopping day of the year…online!
It's Cyber Monday. It’s a day when millions hit up their high-speed Internet access at work and start shopping.
This year there are special deals to kick it off!
Last year Cyber Monday was the second largest online shopping day of the year.
Most people waited until later in December to buy after they did a little comparison shopping.
This year retailers want to change that with some deals shoppers can't resist
This year three out of four shoppers plan to shop on-line too.
“Convenience more than anything, more variety, sometimes when its crazy busy especially this time of year,” said two shoppers at Petco in Mishawaka.
Besides convenience, Consumers say online shopping is an easy way to comparison shop and are deals on-line that can’t be found in the stores.
“Generally we don't price match the prices online so sometimes that's kind of a drive for them to go there and also Petco offers about two or three months out of the year free shipping,” says Petco associate Jessica Whitaker.
In fact studies show about 80 percent of the websites offer free shipping with a minimum purchase.
But stores that also have websites are selling the idea that you will find something in the store that you can't find on-line.
“Yeah you get a good deal here and you get personal attention we can walk you around and show you everything that is selling really well,” says Border’s manager Heather Planert.
Either way retailers will be happy to take your business whether it's on line or in the store.
