CDC Designates National Influenza Vaccination Week

Video will be available shortly.

It is an easy way to protect your family's health this winter.
The CDC has designated this week National Influenza Vaccination Week.

Starting Monday, officials are encouraging people to get a flu shot.

The shots are especially important for young children, people who are 50 or older, pregnant women, and for anyone with a chronic health condition.

Each year in the United States, between five and 20 percent of the population is infected with the flu.

And more than 200,000 people are hospitalized because of influenza complications.
