"Black Friday" Shoppers in Michiana hit stores at 5am.

They lined up through the parking lot, waiting and stalking the store's front doors. Then it was time. Some South Bend Kohl's shoppers began lining up at 1:00am to make sure they get what they're in line for. The $49.99 portable DVD player is a coveted item.

Sara Matthews says waking up early is worth it. “I got here at 4:15 and got 2 DVD players and a v-smile. Christmas shopping for my kids is done.”

However the Kohl's line was nothing compared to the Target. That snaked through the parking lot and around the store. More than 800 people rushed in at 6:00am, gabbed carts and began stacking them high. The electronics sections looked like a mob scene, literally causing some people to shop till they dropped.

Matt and Katie Garber are making this a full day event. “It’s very prosperous yes I believe so, we saved a lot of money so far probably get 80% of our shopping done in one day. I love to shop and my husband hates it!”

After tackling the Best Buy parking lot, an amazing feat in itself, we found the store to be just a crowed. It's all about TVs, ipods, DVD's, and video games.

Out last stop was University Park Mall. We parked so far away we could have shuttled in, but people didn't seem to mind. With bags in hand and cash burning holes in their pockets, there's a feeling of relief and accomplishment after ever credit transaction.

At least until the bill comes next month.
