New Smoking Ban at National Zoo

The visitors and residents at the National Zoo will be breathing cleaner air starting next month.

The Washington D.C. Zoo is banning all smoking at the start of the month.

Zoo officials say a couple of small fires during the last year prompted the new policy.

Visitors already could not smoke inside the buildings.

The new policy applies to walkways, zoo golf carts, and all areas of the conservation and research center.
