While most of you were busy making Thanksgiving dinner, some local stores were open to help out the last minute shoppers.
The Meijer in Mishawaka had their fair share of people gathering last minute food items.
Pre-made fruit plates and already prepared mashed potatoes were in many carts.
Despite the number of people, the lines went pretty smoothly.
A Meijer shopper, Bob Kingsley said, “We have workers at home who are doing the preparing we're just getting the last minute forgotten items.”
Another shopper, Jenifer Sult said, “I don't think it's too bad actually, this is the first time he said he's had to stand in line for the self service check outs but it doesn't seem too bad.”
Not all the grocery stores in the area opened their doors Thursday
Martin's for example gave its employees the day off.
