80th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

It seems you can not keep a good balloon down, despite some nasty weather.

New York City officials gave the go-ahead for the famous balloons to parade through the city as part of the 80th annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade.

Windy weather threatened to keep the inflated characters like Snoopy, Scooby Doo, and Sponge Bob grounded, instead they just flew a bit lower.

The balloons have only been grounded once before in the parade's history.

Overall, some eight-to-ten thousand people took part in the parade.
