Students at one South Bend school received high marks for their cooking skills Wednesday.
Kids at Bendix School filled their plates with Thanksgiving goodies Wednesday afternoon.
The potluck was part of the school's Success Class, which is a personal development class for students.
Bendix School is an alternative school in South Bend.
It serves around 200 students who thrive better in a small school environment.
Teachers and students say they have a lot to be thankful for this holiday.
“What we hear from the students on a regular basis is the teacher's care about them a whole lot, work with them on a more individual basis and because of that, they feel like they're more successful here," explains Bendix School Supervisor Carol Dennis. "When they come in, they finish a class, they hug. I have a couple of students who walk in every day and say I need my daily hug.”
Dennis says around 100 students graduate every year from Bendix School.
