There is new leadership in the Indiana General Assembly.
Tuesday was the largely ceremonial organization day in the legislature.
The new Democrat majority in the House confirmed Representative Patrick Bauer, of South Bend, as the new House Speaker.
Bauer was Speaker of the House back in 2003 and 2004 before Republicans won control of the House.
In the Senate, Senator David Long was confirmed as the new President pro tem.
Lawmakers will return to the Statehouse on January eighth, when the session convenes.
