It is the season of giving, and today some people were giving back to the community.
Volunteers at the Sister Maura Brannick Health Center handed out Thanksgiving Baskets today to the less fortunate.
Several local organizations helped make the baskets possible.
Food, toiletries and even draft dodgers were included in the baskets!
It is all to help keep people full and warm over the holiday. "Besides giving out the baskets today there's 90 boxes of food, besides this then tomorrow we will have some more and throughout the week and then our clients can come in once a month for food," says volunteer Rosie Braunsdorf.
Along with the Thanksgiving baskets, people received $10 gift certificates from Martin's which were donated by St. Joseph hospital.
Volunteers tell us they are already busy working on Christmas baskets for December.
