Two Michiana counties face renewed pressure to ban smoking in public places.

Marshall County Commissioner Tom Chamberlain does not anticipate a vote on Monday, but it resumes a debate that was tabled in late 2005.

Meanwhile, in Berrien County, Michigan, plans call for the Board of Health to take up an anti-smoking ordinance in December.

If approved, it could go before the Berrien County commissioners in January.
