Little Pilgrims and Indians joined together Friday for a special celebration in South Bend.
Warren Primary Center held its 2nd annual Thanksgiving program Friday.
Students learned about the history of the holiday by creating costumes, learning music, and putting together a special feast.
Teachers say the program helps kids learn the true meaning of Thanksgiving.
Kathleen Miller of the Warren Primary Center said, “I just think this is a great set off to thanksgiving and I think the children really realize is all the things we have to be thankful for. They're so dear. They're so dear, they speak right from the heart and they really mean what they say in these parts.”
South Bend School Superintendent Dr. Robert Zimmerman was among the special guests who attended Friday’s performance.
Warren Primary also collected non-perishable food items, which will be donated locally to those in need.
