Elderly Woman Accused of Attacking Two Officers Heads to Trial Soon

An elderly South Bend woman accused of attacking two police officers will head to trial in two weeks.

In February 2005, 81-year-old Betty Chambers allegedly attacked two police officers with her cane while they were checking on her welfare.

One of the officers suffered a separated shoulder, the other, a mild concussion.

Chambers is charged with battery and resisting law enforcement.

Her trial starts on November 30th.
