Sony Playstation 3 Hits Retailers Friday

The dreary and cold weather is not stopping die hard video gamers from getting excited and in line for the release of the new Playstation 3.

People have been lined up in front of Mishawaka’s Best Buy since Wednesday.

The much talked about system does not even go on sale there until 8AM Friday morning.

For the lucky fans that are high enough in line, they get the chance to pay $500 or $600 for the PS 3.

However, some waiting in long lines aren’t waiting for the system itself, but for the cash.

A customer waiting in line, Aaron Timm said, “They've been going for like $2200 on eBay. That's an $1800 profit or something like that!"

Seth Lohr has been waiting in line since Wednesday. He said, “I'm going to get the PS 3 and then I’m going to sell it for a profit, because Best Buy's got the lowest price."

Anthony Woodfork, who plans on keeping his PS 3 after purchasing it, said, "It's the new generation for gaming and Sony has had a long time to get it together; the [Xbox] 360, I have one, but it doesn't meet the standards, so pretty much Playstation 3 is going to take it up a notch."

There are plenty for sale already on eBay, some for as much as $2700.

If you are hoping to sell your system on eBay there are some special rules.

The online auction site is only allowing established sellers with positive ratings to list the system before Friday.

The listing must contain a photo of a pre-order receipt and must guarantee shipping within the next 30 days.
