Big Year for South Shore Line

It has been a big year for the South Shore Line. In fact, it is expected to be the biggest in almost half a century.

Officials say more then four million people will have ridden the commuter line this year, which is the most since 4.3 million rode it back in 1957.

This is good news for the operators who are now asking for funding for 14 new double decker cars.

They say they are needed because passengers’ usages are up more than 10 percent just this year.
